My Jean Jackets

Jean jackets are a fashion staple for most of us. And as you can see from part of my collection, they come in a variety of styles and have a personality of their own.  There are the basic, the frilly, the military, the distressed, the blazer, the dark wash, the light wash, the vest...and the list goes on.  They are incredibly versatile.  You can wear them with jeans, cargos, dress pants, dresses, evening wear and more.

Style tip:  It's OK to mix your denim.  Just be sure that the two pieces you are wearing are different enough in color that they don't look like you are try to match them.

Looking Forward to Fall Fashions

Even though the temperature in much of the country is still in the mid 90's, stores are gearing up with Fall fashions.  I love the Autumn colors, great rich fabrics, and multiplicity of layers we associate with Fall.  This outfit is perfect for cooler weather without being drab.  Note the feminine details of the dress, the unique vintage necklace, and strappy leather heels...topped off with a simple black cardigan, tights, and a few bangles.  This dress is a great transitional piece.  Lose the cardigan and tights and wear it all Summer.  Photos by Dirk Olsen.

Skinny Jeans & Vintage Bolero

I jokingly refer to this photo as "The Squatter".  It features skinny jeans, multicolor satin heels, a rust colored cowl neck top, and a vintage sequined bolero and chain belt.  I love the warm feel of the outfit and how it pops against the brown background.  Photo by Dirk Olsen.

Hippie Chic

This sheer, hippie-style tunic top and black "ski" pants is one of my favorite casual looks.  I wear it with gold sandals in the summer and boots in the winter as shown here.  The huge chunky necklace and gold bangles are the perfect accessories.  (Use the site search engine to find my other "hippie" posts.)

Vintage Tough

This is a great outfit and one of many examples I will post on how to integrate vintage items with trendy pieces.  The leather motorcycle jacket, chain belt, and onyx ring are vintage.  I combined them with a simple white tank, skinny jeans, large silver hoops, and some really rockin' boots.   Photo by Dirk Olsen.

Special Occasion Glamour

This is a fabulous outfit for that special occasion when you want to dress up , but don't want to look like you are going "clubbing".  The A-line cut of the dress makes it a good choice for most body types.  The accordian pleats drape beautifully and the lace at the bodice creates a feminine appeal.  The burnished gold chandelier earrings and vintage rhinestone bracelets add just the right amount of bling.  Finish it off with some patterned tights, animal print heels, and a boa (or long scarf /shawl).  Now that's GLAMOROUS!  Photo by Dirk Olsen.

Graceful Movement

This is one of my favorite photos!  I use it on the front of my comp card.  The movement of the tiered dress is engaging and the cobalt color is so perfect on the model with her flying raven hair.  Photo by Dirk Olsen.

Beautiful Vintage

I LOVE working with vintage clothes and accessories.  These two outfits are some examples from my collection.  Notice the neckline detail on the third photo. Beautiful!!!  Photos by Dirk Olsen.

Music Promo Photos

These photos are from a shoot I did with contemporary Christian artist, Lily Rubio.  Lily's album, Entiendeme, was nominted "Best Latin Album'" 2009 by the JPF Awards.  Lily also has a line of clothing which features a solution for low cut garments.  They are called Cupcake Covertops (She has one on with the teal top).  Check them out at http://www.cupcakecovertops.com/  Photos by Dirk Olsen.

Modeling - Hippie Style

Occasionally, I get the opportunity to work with new models signed with a local agency.  This is one hippie inspired outfit I really loved...and so did the model.  We made a deal.  If I got some GREAT pictures, she would get the vintage skirt.  She won!  Photos by Dirk Olsen.

Shabby Apple Dresses Photo Shoot

A while back, I produced two fashion shows for Shabby Apple. I also did a photo shoot with some of their dresses.  They have some really cute stuff!  Check them out at:  http://www.shabbyapple.com/

Guest Post on sensiblystyled.com

I recently did a guest post on Sensibly Styled (http://www.sensiblystyled.com/) for an article on What to Wear to the Zoo. This outfit is perfect. It's loose, all cotton, very comfortable, and totally stylish. Just add a cute bucket hat for protection from the sun and a small messanger bag for all your personal items...and you are good to go!!  Sensibly Styled is a great blog; check it out.
