April Newsletter

Spring is officially here and the lighter nights are so much better. I certainly do feel happier when the sun is out, I am sure you do to.

WEDDING FAIR – Sun 5th April 12pm -4pm Erskine Bridge Hotel -FREE

For those of you who are local to this hotel we would love to see you there. We will be displaying a small range of our Tiaras, Jewellery and our Brand New collection of Fascinators.
We are also offering a 10% discount on all items purchased or appointments made on the day. So you can really save. What’s more we don’t believe in over inflating prices therefore all our prices are reasonable to start with. Proving this to a be a real saving opportunity for brides who can make this event.
I have just finished a new tiara last night – it has approximately 400 Swarovski crystals in it and took over 2 hours to make. This is priced at £65, the rrp on this would be £100! We are offering a 10% discount at the fair so this reduces to £58.50. We have also launched a hire service so this same tiara can be hired for £20 for 1 week – true crunch busting with full style.

FASCINATORS – NEW COLLECTION

Here at Wedding and Baby we work with a team of creative people who make up our complete collection. A friend of mine Helen has come on board and is now a huge part of the Wedding and Baby team. Helen has been in the dress making industry for many years, and on her recent retirement I snapped her up to come and join the team. I think she is now busier than ever before – oops!
We have been working closely over the last few months designing and creating this fantastic range of Fascinators which will be launched at the Wedding Fair in Erskine. These are ONE –OFF designs so you won’t see anyone else wearing them and again these are very reasonably priced. These designs are also available to hire from as little as £5 per week.
Appointments can be made also for a bespoke fascinator to be made to suit your style & budget. So if it’s a wedding or a day at the races we can create a design just for you.

CHARMING ANGELS – ADULT PARTIES
After much success with the children’s jewellery making and craft parties – last month we did our 1st adults jewellery making party. It’s incredible how the adults become like little kids, when they see the beads and start making their creations. Not only is this now becoming a great hobby, I am sure these ladies will be beating the credit crunch by making endless necklaces and bracelets as gifts.
Prices start from £10 per head for 2 hours of jewellery making.

FEELING STRESSED OUT – REIKI & EFT (Children & Adults)

Gillian Walker of www.divinebalance.co.uk has been working with children in the primary schools to use the techniques of Emotional Freedom Therapy. EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) is a great tool for children to use on themselves whenever they have an emotional (or often even a physical) issue. It’s good fun to learn and gives children something to work with, whenever they have any sort of emotional issue throughout their childhood, on a day by day or issue by issue basis. It’s a proven way of letting go of your baggage…children don’t need to carry it into adulthood. Even though the technique seems odd, it works and that’s the proof.
I have actually had a chance to have some EFT with Gillian and I couldn’t believe how it works. One session and that was all it needed. I know have a tool that I can use if ever I feel myself in a situation of anxiety again.
Gillian also does Reiki treatments from her home, but for those wishing to learn how to give this treatment she offers courses too.
The next Level 1 Reiki Course is in April. It teaches the basic first level of this wonderful Ancient Japanese Healing System. A one day course, with ongoing support and occasional practise groups to keep the learning and practise continuing…………………………………….. Price £90
Check out her website for more details.

Adults Jewellery making Party

Today we were at a jewellery making party for Adults! It was a mother and daughter day, with 7 ladies making a necklace and bracelet. It was a beginners level, but they all made lovely jewellery and learned some of the basic techniques.

It’s incredible how the adults become like little kids, when they see the beads and start making their creations. Not only is this now becoming a great hobby, I am sure these ladies will be beating the credit crunch by making endless necklaces and bracelets as gifts.

Charming Angels News

We have busy this month so have still to add photos of Layla's party. What a fantastic and fun filled party we had. We were blown away with how creative these 5 & 6 year olds were. A special mention has to be made to the boys. They worked away with pure focus and created fantastic dinosaurs, cars and door hangings. Well done boys you should be very proud.

We hope that Layla had a great party (we certainly did) and that her party was the hot topic at school on Monday.
