Toemageddon Update: Lyons Fils Speaks! 10 May 2011, 5:51 pm
The world—or at least, the conservative-columnist world—was up in arms last month when Jenna Lyons admitted in an otherwise innocuous J.Crew spread that she sometimes paints her son’s toenails pink. Cue the fire and brimstone—and a new coinage, “Toemaggedon,” to boot. Amid all the controversy, Lyons and company have remained sanely mum on the issue, but last night’s Parsons’ graduate show, we couldn’t help but bring it up. “Saturday morning play time with a 4-year-old turns into Toemageddon. It’s crazy, just crazy,” Lyons said. “What’s so funny is he was in the room when the Toemageddon thing was reported and he’s just like, ‘Look, Mommy, it’s me on TV.’ In the end , it was fun.” We had to ask: Is the now-famous tot suddenly in high demand? “No, the offers aren’t pouring in for modeling contracts or acting careers or anything,” Lyons assured us. —Kristin Studeman Photo: Neil Rasmus / BFAnyc.com |
