Kiddie Cute With Wes Anderson And Lanvin, One Small Step For Bryanboy, One Giant Leap For Bloggers, And More… 4 May 2011, 6:03 pm
There’s a new Wes Anderson movie in the offing. Focus Features is backing Moonrise Kingdom, the latest from the Royal Tenenbaums and Rushmore director. The film, which will be shot this summer in Rhode Island, stars a pair of young unknown actors as a teenage couple that runs away to elope. In the supporting cast, some known actors: Bruce Willis, Frances McDormand, Bill Murray, Jason Schwartzman, and (fashion folk, hold your breath) Tilda Swinton. [Huffington Post via Gilt Manual]
Speaking of kids and cute (of the ultra-expensive variety): Lanvin is launching children’s clothing. It’s a return to form for the house: Founder Jeanne Lanvin spent part of her early career making pieces for mothers and daughters (a sketch of some of her children’s designs from 1929 is above). Readers of The New York Times may have noticed something a little odd about a recent article on the Met gala—Oscar de la Renta was identified in a photo as Giorgio Armani. One of those confused readers? Oscar de la Renta. “What kind of trip was your photographer on?” Mr. de la Renta reportedly said when he called the Times. “It’s just fabulous for my ego. Whoever did it must have been on some kind of LSD I don’t know about.” (Side note: Does this suggest there’s a kind of LSD OdlR does know about?) [On the Runway]
And the next chapter in blogger world domination begins: Bryanboy announces he’s signed with power agency CAA. [Racked] Illustration: Jeanne Lanvin/wwd.com |
