The Best Of Cannes: Day 1
11 May 2011, 10:07 pm

No sooner had Chanel’s Cruise ship (er, show) rolled out of town—attendee Rachel Bilson’s already back on the party scene in New York—than the Cannes Film Festival kicked off on the Riviera. The stars (and star jurors) aligned for the opening ceremony of the fest, and the first film, Woody Allen’s Midnight in Paris, which screened out of competition this evening.

With the red carpet officially unfurled, the best-dressed race is officially on, and there were plenty of strong contenders on Day 1. Our picks? Juror Uma Thurman, who attended the opening ceremony in a high-slit Fall ‘11 white Versace gown (left), won plenty of votes. So did Karolina Kurkova, who took in the premiere of Midnight in Paris in midnight blue Armani Privé (center). And coming in strong with a more casual day look was Midnight star Léa Seydoux (right), who chose pretty, printed Prada (with matching Louboutin pumps) for the film’s photo call earlier in the afternoon. (She wore petal pink Vuitton to the official premiere.)

Who was your favorite? Who have we missed? Write-in votes encouraged in the comments below.
