Well as 2008 comes to a close, it certainly has been a year of new beginnings. Wedding and Baby only being launched just recently has achieved it goal of being a functioning online shop. There are still lots of things to add and change as we continually develop over the coming months.

In the press about Birth Trauma!

At Wedding and Baby we are very excited about being in contact with a journalist from Pregnancy & Birth Magazine. They are doing a feature on Post Birth Complications and featuring us! I had a lovely chat with Catherine the journalist as I told her my birth story, and how I got involved in creating jewellery for the Birth Trauma Asscociation.

Within an hour of doing the interview we had our first order for the Birth Trauma Jewellery, and 2 days later our second one came through!

Birth Trauma Association Charity Jewellery

Just started to put a few jewellery designs for the Birth Trauma Association Charity Jewellery. We are giving 10% of the proceeds from the sale of these items to the BTA. The BTA is very close to our hearts here at wedding and baby. Although our son was born perfectly healthy, it was myself who lost a life threatening amount of blood during the birth while my husband watched it all happen.

Xmas is coming!

Well it has been a long time since I managed to get some news up onto the blog. The charity fayre went well and we sold most of our display. It was a good night. Although I returned home to find my little boy very ill with an ear infection - mothers guilt!

Since then we have been working on the creating charity jewellery for the Birth Trauma Association. While having my son (who is now 3) I lost 4 pints of blood and ended up with PND. So this charity is close to our hearts as it provides a service to the many women who are traumatised by birth and helps them on the road to recovery.

Charity - Street Boys of Peru

Not managed to get online to update this recently as I have been preparing for a small fayre in aid of the Street Boys of Peru.

We are attending a ladies night at Kyle Academy on Thurs 6th Nov, so have been busy creating leaflet and a display.

We are offering 10% of our total sales to this wonder cause.
Items on sale will be priced between £10 -£30 ... so we hope to make a good contribution to the charity.

The business cards arrived yesterday - they look quite good.
So that is my husbands job - he is in sole charge of marketing.

Did a few hours on the website last night updating jewellery.

Hopefully having a website free day tomorrow - if the weather is dry we will be out and about.

Working Hard

Been working really hard on the site over the last few days. It took me a whole night to get the "open in new window" to work on the site. But I managed it, and got all the stationery listed. Getting somewhere.

Today has been busy, as I am a full time working mum with the business as a sideline!

Sadly my stationery supplier has had to pull out, just as we were getting started. She is off to bigger and better things - so I wish her all the best for the future.

Start of the new Venture

My husband and I decided to create this business after coming back from Benidorm on holiday. A week back to work and I knew I had to do something I enjoyed!

We are not entirely new to the wedding scene. I had a successful wedding stationery business from 2003 to 2006. When my son was born in 2005 I found it difficult to maintain the amount of time required to complete all the orders and had to give it up. I am thankfull to my husband for the endless baby sitting he did when I was completing orders.

As the business was nearing an end my husband suggested the one stop shop, to which at the time I dismissed.

Now 2 years later and with my son just turned 3 we are ready to start the venture we never pursued.

And so Wedding and Baby is born.
